Our rural medicine pathway is paving the way for future doctors.

Rashmi Chandran is on an exciting journey in the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (Medicine Pathway) program at UniSQ. Her love for medicine comes from a deep desire to help others and make a difference.

With a passion to bring top-notch healthcare to rural areas, Rashmi believes everyone deserves great medical care, no matter where they live. Plus, she loves the peaceful lifestyle of these communities and sees so many ways to make a positive impact.

"I’ve always recognised the value and importance of learning not to just benefit yourself, but to put that knowledge into something that benefits everyone."
Getting into medicine wasn't easy for Rashmi. She worked hard, studying for the UCAT, interviews, and her ATAR. Seeing a medical centre in Warwick close because there weren't enough doctors only made her more determined to pursue this path.

For Rashmi, working in regional medicine is about investing in the people who keep our country running, like those in mining and agriculture. She wants to ensure these communities are healthy and happy.

Rashmi's story is all about dedication and passion for rural healthcare and she's excited to make a real difference in regional areas with the support of UniSQ.
